Coming July 2025
Great News! Book Seven -- the final installment in the
Within and Without Time series -- is coming in July.
Nearly eight years after it began with Book One, the Within and Without Time story comes to a dramatic conclusion in this last installment. While this final book has been in the works for much of the past year, there has been some debate over whether to release it so soon after Book 6. I can't help feeling that the time is right -- who knows whether it is intended for 'such as time as this?'
The Within and Without Time story began for me more than thirty years ago with a spark of inspiration, not long after my father died. Adversity can have a profound impact on us, often inspiring insights that we could never have seen before.
C.H. Spurgeon once noted how adversity can change our perspective:
‘The other day, we sat in a calf’s shed for half an hour, grateful for the shelter from the driving rain, even though we would never have entered such a place otherwise. Discontented people often need to experience adversity and affliction to cure their habit of complaining. Even things we once despised become valuable when we face difficult circumstances.’[1]
I had never considered myself a writer at the time, but Jimmy’s story became a place of refuge for me as the storms of life blew past — the loss of a nephew and others, my own battle with cancer, and struggles with God’s motives in it all. Through those years, the adventures of a young man facing even more astonishing challenges pointed the way towards an understanding of God’s purposes in life’s hardest times.
Fast forward to 2017 — 29 years and three careers later — it finally grew into a book called ''Without Time: Within Time,’ published under the pseudonym, Daniel Ignatius, a name I share with my grandfather.
That first, awkward attempt was revised and re-released in its current form in 2021, as ‘Within and Without Time’. I never suspected then that it would grow into seven novels and an epic adventure. As usual, God had a bigger plan than I could see at the time.
Its warm reception has been humbling and encouraging. I pray that it may continue to be a blessing to readers for years to come.
Ultimately, the Author who matters the most is "the Author and perfecter of our faith" (Heb. 12:2). He sets the times and seasons of history. It's my humble prayer that He may use this small bit of fiction to stir the hearts of His people in the days in which we find ourselves.

Book 7: AN UNEXPECTED HOUR combines soul-stirring action with foreboding Biblical prophecy in an epic tale that is profoundly moving and inspiring. It follows Jimmy, Anna, and their friends as they battle evil, while history unfolds across time, revealing God's amazing planning for happenings in the Last Days.
End times events are set against a backdrop of historical events surrounding the founding of America, painting a picture of God's planning through the ages that is especially pertinent for today's world.
Meanwhile, a shadowy figure is approaching, and the stage is set for history’s most infamous leader to appear — the man whom the prophets called the Son of Perdition draws perilously closer.
